In memoriam – John W. Bish

Former WPGA President, 1995-96, John W. “Jack” Bish, died on March 28 at the age 66.  A past president of Alcoma Golf Club, Bish was elected to the WPGA Executive Committee in 1991, and quickly rose through the chairs to the presidency.  He was an effective leader both at Alcoma and within the Association.  Due to his influence, his club in 1992 was one of the first to connect with GHIN, the USGA’s Golf Handicap & Information Network, a service that nearly all Member Clubs are connected with presently.

A graduate of Penn State University, Bish was an engineer and executive at Calgon.  Since he was an enthusiastic boatsman and fisherman, his family respectfully suggests memorial contributions be made to Take a Kid Fishing–TAKF Foundation, Attn. Teresa Holcomb, PO Box 1195 Morehead City, NC 28557.
