Smith makes more history in Amateur

When Nathan Smith edged collegians Nathan Sutherland (Miami, Ohio) and John Popeck (Maryland) at Allegheny to win the West Penn Amateur, the Brookville native reached two more benchmarks.  He joins a group of nine golfers who
have won three or more Amateurs, and a group of six who have won three Amateurs in a row.  The six players on both lists include three USGA champions, Arnold Palmer, W.C. Fownes, and Smith, plus three other players who dominated their eras–Sean Knapp, Bob Reilly, and John Birmingham.
