Wheatcroft stays in top ten on Nationwide Tour

With two solid finishes in August at Sandy, Utah, and Knoxville, Tennessee, Steve Wheatcroft, a Washington, PA, native is in ninth place on the Nationwide Tour’s 2011 money list. The top 25 secure PGA Tour cards for the 2012 season. The 2004 West Penn Open winner and college standout at Indiana University in the Big Ten is about $20,000 behind the #8 player, Kyle Reifers, and about $20,000 ahead of #10, James Nitties.

Wheatcroft will enjoy a home course advantage September 1-4, at the Nationwide Tour’s Mylan Classic, played at Southpointe GC, Canonsburg. He was a golf shop employee at the facility prior to playing professional golf.
