Rachel Rohanna advances in LPGA qualifying

Waynesburg’s Rachel Rohanna, twice a recipient of the Association’s Frank Fuhrer, III, Award for outstanding collegiate play, has advanced through the first stage of the LPGA Tour’s Qualifying School. Playing the Champions Course at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, she fired a first-round 65 to take the lead, then finished with 75-71-72 for a total of 283, tied for 12th.

A senior at Ohio State University, Rohanna entered the qualifying school as an amateur. She will play for the Buckeyes as well this Fall. The second stage is scheduled for early October.
