Three selected for WPGA Scholarships

The Scholarship Committee interviewed seven candidates on April 20, and they selected three students for the 2013-14 academic year. The program will include twelve scholars next Fall. All of the incoming group have outstanding profiles of extra-curricular activities, academic excellence, and employee performance. The incoming students are:

Jacob DeWeese, Shannopin, caddie. DeWeese is a senior at Freedom Area High School; he will attend Penn State University where he will major in engineering.

Zachary Kirsch, South Hills, caddie. Kirsch is a senior at Peters Township High School; he will attend Robert Morris University where he will major in accounting.

Bethany Scott, South Hills, lifeguard. Scott graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 2011; she will soon complete her sophomore year at Edinboro University, PA, where she majors in accounting.

Each of the twelve students will receive $4000 in tuition assistance during the 2013-14 school year.
