Bertrand breaks through at Public Links Championship

Erik Bertrand shot a 7-under 137 to win the Public Links Championship at Totteridge by four shots on rounds of 67-70. This is his first victory in a WPGA conducted championship and came against on of the strongest fields to compete in the Public Links.

Sean Knapp finished as runner-up after recording rounds of 69-72 for a 3-under 141.

Those who follow golf closely in Western Pennsylvania know Bertrand. A reinstated amateur, he played collegiate golf at Duke University. He has advanced through the US Open Local Qualifying Round several times and has qualified for the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship twice. He has recorded several top finishes in other area championships and has played on the Association’s Palmer Cup team in its annual match against the Tri-State Section PGA.
