Kahkwa to host 2016 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur

The Kahkwa Club in Erie will host the 2016 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur. It will be the third third USGA championship the club has hosted and is for women amateurs age 25 and older. The two previous USGA championships held at Kahkea were the 1971 U.S. Women’s Open won by Hall of Famer Joanne Carner and the 2004 U.S. Women’s amateur won by Jane Park. Paula Creamer, Inbee Park and Michelle Wie also competed in the 2004 championship.

Kahkwa has hosted three West Penn Amateur Championships. Tim Dunlavey won in 1987, Sean Knapp won in 1999 and Greg Podufal won last year.
