Mike VanSickle, Wexford, winner of the 2013 PNC West Penn Open Championship at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort’s Mystic Rock course, will compete for a Web.Com Tour card next month. He will play in the Final Qualifying Stage on December 11-16 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
VanSickle advanced through second qualifying stage last month at Southern Hills Plantation, Brookville, Florida, with scores of 66-70-72-71—279. He tied for 8th and qualified by two strokes. Earlier this Fall, VanSickle topped the field in the First Stage Qualifying at Arbor Links GC, Nebraska City, Nebraksa, with 67-68-70-72—277.
VanSickle turned professional in 2009 after a very successful collegiate career at Marquette University. He won twelve collegiate events and was the recipient of the NCAA’s 2009 Byron Nelson Award as the most outstanding collegiate player in Division I.
This is his first appearance in the Web.Com Tour’s final qualifying stage.
